How do I use Tea Butter?
Anytime your skin feels like it needs hydration! Sydney recommends cleansing the skin before bed and applying it at night once the skin is dry.
What is in Tea Butter?
Unrefined Shea Butter, Olive-Derived Squalane Oil, Arrowroot Powder, Green Tea Oil, and Natural Vitamin E Oil
What is the difference between unrefined and refined shea butter?
Great question! Most commercial shea butters are refined or made from shea-esters - meaning they've been processed, stripping away many natural nutrients like vitamins, antioxidants, and reducing the amount of beneficial fatty-acids.
What is Lanolin?
Lanolin-sometimes called wool wax or wool fat, is a complex, semi-solid blend of waxy esters naturally produced by sheep to waterproof their fleece. Purified for human use, it becomes a versatile skincare ingredient with a unique profile: deeply occlusive to slow transepidermal water loss, naturally plasticizing to soften cracked skin, yet still able to emulsify and carry water.
What’s the difference between Pharmaceutical Grade and Raw Lanolin?
Raw lanolin has a much stronger sheep-like scent and is commonly used for industrial purposes such as lubrication, rust prevention, and leather conditioning. In contrast, the pharmaceutical-grade lanolin we use is ultra-pure, pharmaceutical-grade anhydrous lanolin with little to no odour. It conforms to the latest standards of the European Pharmacopoeia, ensuring exceptional purity and quality for skincare use.
Allergy Concerns?
Please note: Our Lanolin Lip Treatment contains lanolin, which is derived from sheep’s wool, as well as other natural ingredients that may not be suitable for everyone. If you have sensitivities or allergies to lanolin, wool, beeswax, shea butter, or any listed ingredients, we recommend consulting your doctor before use.
What does Mulesing-Free Mean?
"Mulesing-free" means wool or lanolin sourced from sheep that have not undergone mulesing, a painful surgical procedure used to remove skin strips around a sheep's buttocks to prevent flystrike (parasitic infection). It indicates higher animal welfare standards, with farmers using alternative, humane methods like breeding smoother-skinned sheep, better management, and improved monitoring. Green Tea With Me Skincare ensures our Lanolin comes from only ethical and cruelty-free farms.
